My system is alright, always had the same internet for the past year and never or extremely rarely had lag spikes, but today is just huge lag spikes.

I almost never have lag, and I'm on wireless internet going through 3 stone walls.

Alot of my permas have been complaining of lag during vsf farming. Either it really has been lagging, or they just suck.

It very well could be your machine and provider. I have had the same machine since starting GW, just changing video cards. I took my lag issues to support. It turns out, I needed some driver updates and 'tweaks' to my system. Now I have played an extended period of time only with minor spikes here and there.

Please, there is an area for set aside for lag issues. Take it there and/or support.

Perkuna's you do realize that ping lag has nothing to do with graphical lag right?

I was having constant ping in excess of 20-50k and quite frequently 100k+. (I will give ss if you want to see it.) The game was unplayable for more than a month.

Ping is more than the communication speed between point A & B. It also reflects your machine's ability to deal with the communications. Ask support, that is what they told me. There were issues with my provider that were dealt with also, dropped packets.

My machine was part of the problem, not all of it. Until one looks at the BIG picture and ALL the components, you won't know.

I use to blame GW for the lag. After dealing with support and getting it dealt with, I know it isn't all their fault.

No lag lately. You should check your traceroute, an Internet router may be slow on your way to GW servers (their IP is in the ping icon, right bottom corner of the window):

I know absolutely nothing about why lag happens, but I have never lagged badly over the years I've played and have had some of the worst lag ever over the past few days.

Probably useless to note but.. o.o

I'd also like to point out the subjectivity of lag.
Some people might complain about how a ping of 300 is laggy (I have actually seen posts on guru saying just that) while others might think that is fantastic.

It was only when the easter event started, now it's all fine. I get an average of 80.
